• There are only a few good opportunities to gain in life, Praise be to Allah who has blessed me the opportunity to work with Human Appeal Int. to offer my skills and expertise to serve the goals of charity and serve the poor and needy, hoping to be achieved as in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS): the Most beloved people to Allah is the one most beneficial to the people.During my work at HAI I have participated in overseeing various projects including the significant Sounds of Light concert. It is a pleasure to be a part of this valuable project that our community needs in Australia. Sounds of Light draws a smile and happiness on the faces of donors and beneficiaries.

• Through my experience and involvement, Alhamdulillah by the will of Allah (SWT) and generous donors there have been over 3000 Orphan sponsorships as a direct result of the SOL concerts and insha’ allah we will  continue to strive in this path. I sincerely hope that every Muslim family is encouraged to take on at least 1 orphan and make a colossal difference in this child’s life and give them hope and a chance to succeed in life. After all, each and every one of us does not truly believe until he loves for his Muslim brother what he loves for himself. If we want the best for our children, how can we not care for an orphan? May we never be in this situation but if one of our children was an orphan wouldn’t it be wonderful to know that someone out there actually cares for the sake of Allah (SWT) and is prepared to sacrifice his wealth for this rewarding cause?

We at Human Appeal Australia not only strive to make a difference to the lives of many disadvantaged people around the world, but also to the lives of our community right here in Australia. Since working on its first launch in 2007, I knew Sounds of Light was an instant hit, and over the past three years, it became one of the most anticipated and entertaining events for both young and old. I hope you enjoy this night with family and friends, and through your attendance and generous donations, bring a smile to an orphan’s face. It’s a great honour to work on this fantastic program, with a great team, for a wonderful community.

• I have always had an inner desire to carry out some form of charity work which will serve the needy and destitute. I believe this desire has been fulfilled when I joined Human Appeal International in 2007. Since then I became heavily involved in organizing Sounds of Light concerts that led to sponsor 3000 orphans being sponsored. I feel satisfied and content whenever I see a smile on the face of an orphan or needy person that Human Appeal International has provided him/ her with aid or assistance to improve their life. I hope the effort I made has contributed to that smile.

The day I started work with Human Appeal International, my ambition and goals in my life changed. I was Orphaned before I become five years old and I know what it means! That’s why I am committed to Sounds of Light. It is noble when you feel toward an orphan or a widow who sweat for her orphaned kids in the desert of life where it is very hard and you need to struggle to survive. It is more noble when you try to be part of the goodness by in lighting a candle in their nights of needs and loneliness.
Sounds of Light is a yearly event and every one of those orphans wishes to be the lucky sponsored orphan. It‘s a great feeling without saying any words to be a part of this program.

Sounds of Light concert is a great event for Muslim families. It is a night of entertainment as well as a night of giving to the orphans. A night that gives us the opportunity to see our Brothers and sisters in Australia coming together with one aim in their mind, to do their very best to support their Brothers and Sisters in many poor countries around the world to improve their livelihood. As a marketing coordinator, I have been visiting many businesses in Melbourne to encourage them to support this worthy cause in sponsoring the event. I also liaise with our office manager Br Rabih in providing a friendly and welcoming environment for all our artists.

As someone who always had a passion to help disadvantaged people, I believe that being part of the team at Human Appeal International has assisted me in realizing my ambitions. Through our orphan sponsorship program, we endeavor to alter the past, grasp the present  and illuminate the future of the orphans. With regard to the Sounds of Light concert my role consists of; allocating volunteers, working with the marketing and advertising team, assisting with the venue organization on the night, and other logistics. Sounds of Light is an event not to be excluded from any Muslims calendar. Inshallah through your support we will sponsor as many orphans as we can.

Being my first year at Human Appeal International I feel very fortunate to be assisting in projects like Sounds Of Light, I hope to raise awareness of the purpose behind SOL 2010; there are so many disadvantaged people around the world, and sponsoring a child will help reduce some of the poverty our brothers and sisters face where basics privileges don’t exist.
